Our Story
Tucked along nearly an acre of quiet, lush land in the heart of Gaithersburg, Montgomery County, Maryland, Goddard Senior Living is something increasingly rare in the world of senior care: a true home. Not a facility. Not a campus. A home — with wide windows, warm meals, and people who know your name, your preferences, and your story.
We opened our doors with a single, uncompromising conviction: that the final chapter of life deserves the same tenderness, intimacy, and dignity as every chapter that came before it. With just seven residents, we have kept the focus precisely where it belongs — on the individual in our care, just like family.
Goddard Senior Living is licensed by the Maryland Department of Health as an Assiste
Living Program authorized to provide Level 3 (High Level of Care) services in accordance with COMAR 10.07.14 — the highest level of licensed assisted living care in Maryland. Our home is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by trained, compassionate caregivers who are here not simply to assist, but to genuinely connect.
A Different Kind of Call
Behind Goddard Senior Living is a story of purpose over convenience.
Amlan Das spent years building a successful career in corporate America — leading teams, driving results, and navigating the demands of a high-performance professional world. But over time, a quieter, more urgent pull began to take hold. Having witnessed the care journey of aging loved ones up close, Amlan found himself returning, again and again, to a question he could not set aside: Why isn’t there a place that truly feels like home?
In 2025, he answered that question by walking away from a corporate trajectory topursue what he now believes is among the most meaningful work a person can do —caring for those at the most vulnerable, and most precious, stage of life. As Goddard’s Administrator and Owner, Amlan brings professional rigor, personal warmth, and deep accountability to every dimension of resident experience and care quality. For him, this is not a business. It is a calling.
Alok Saha shares that same conviction. A seasoned professional with a background in building and overseeing complex environments in Defense Supply chain, Alok made a quiet, deliberate decision to redirect his expertise toward something more enduring than a balance sheet. As co-owner and Property Manager, Alok is the reason our home feels the way it does — safe, beautifully maintained, and filled with the small, considered details that tell every resident and every visiting family member: someone is paying close attention here.
Together, Amlan and Alok didn’t just open a business. They built the place they would want for their own parents.
Why Small — Intentionally
In an industry increasingly shaped by scale, we have made a deliberate choice in the opposite direction. Seven residents means our caregivers know more than your loved one’s care plan. They know how they take their coffee, what music moves them, whether they’re a morning person or not, and what makes them laugh. For many older adults — especially those living with memory challenges or recovering from significant health events — this kind of relational continuity is as important as any clinical intervention. At Goddard, every resident is known. Every family is a partner. And every day is built around the people who live here — not the other way around.
